GEP sells GEP Quantum Intelligence, the source-to-pay platform formerly sold as GEP SMART, to Fortune 500 and Global 2000 procurement teams, next to its own consulting and managed services; sourcing, contracts, supplier risk, P2P and e-invoicing sit in one suite.
Independently scored, one dimension at a time. Every dimension is sourced, and we say whether a claim is published, reported, or estimated.
GEP says it manages more than $600 billion of spend a year for 1,000+ clients in 120+ countries with about 6,000 staff, and its September 2026 release cites 550+ Fortune 500 and Global 2000 customers. GEP says GEP Quantum Intelligence runs 100+ enterprise deployments with a choice of data region, single-tenant environments and bring-your-own-key encryption. Its NASPO proposal prices a 12,500-user, $8 billion-spend scenario. What breaks first is the low end: the 2021 Texas list starts procure-to-pay at $246,375 a year.
GEP's trust page lists SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II (security, availability, confidentiality, processing integrity), ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and GDPR compliance, with PCI DSS still being pursued for its Payment Suite App; report periods are not published (checked 27 September 2026). Its agent list covers N-way invoice matching, fraud and duplicate detection and policy responses, and GEP says three-way matching and other SOX-critical steps run as fixed, auditable workflows. GEP E-Invoicing claims 80+ countries and has been a certified Peppol Access Point since 2012. No 1099 or W-9 handling was found.
GEP's NASPO proposal includes 24x5 support, a customer success portal for up to five designated users, standard training material and on-site stabilization support in year two. Capterra and Software Advice show 4.6 out of 5 for GEP Quantum Intelligence with 4.6 for customer service, but from only seven reviews (checked 27 September 2026); G2, TrustRadius and Gartner Peer Insights blocked access. GEP's client-update FAQ says support arrangements, SLAs and account teams carry over unchanged after the 2026 rename.
GEP says it connects to SAP ECC and S/4HANA, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Infor and Basware, and its API docs offer REST, bulk, SOAP and SFTP exchange for organization, GL, code combination, tax, budget, supplier, PO, receipt and invoice data. The NASPO proposal includes one ERP integration through the client's middleware using GEP's API and excludes other third-party integrations. No native QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage Intacct connector was found.
GEP's platform page lists 34 named agents across sourcing, category management, contracts, risk, procure-to-pay and supplier management, plus a low-code studio for custom agents, and says one gateway routes work to Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude (checked 27 September 2026); outcome figures are vendor-claimed. The outside surface is thin: no MCP server for external agents was found, and the read-write REST APIs at api.gep.com need GEP-issued keys and client certificates per customer. GEP's MCP work connects its own agents to other systems.
GEP has no pricing page, but it still hosts its Texas DIR price list (June 2021) with MSRP for every module, user band and revenue tier, and its NASPO ValuePoint price file is public. Both are public-sector lists: the Texas contract took 25 percent off MSRP and expired on 15 November 2023, and the NASPO contract (awarded 31 May 2023) takes at least 40 percent off licenses and 10 percent off services. Missing: current commercial list prices, renewal uplift terms and any Vendr benchmark (no GEP page on 27 September 2026).
GEP's NASPO ValuePoint proposal allows up to 12 months for spend analysis, sourcing, contracts and supplier management (6 for a small state) and 12 to 18 months for request-through-pay inside a 24-month program, with implementation fees of $4.3 million to $9.2 million. Costa Coffee chose GEP in 2023 and was live by 19 August 2024; Akshaya Patra chose GEP in June 2026 for go-live in early 2027. GEP leads delivery, and KPMG and Optis Consulting appear as partners in the same NASPO price file.
GEP does not run its own payment rails: its Invoice API accepts payment details and payment status posted from the ERP. GEP announced embedded Mastercard virtual cards for its P2P ePayables module on 13 September 2023, due late 2023, and its P2P page lists consolidated payment runs, virtual card support and dynamic discounting. PCI DSS for the Payment Suite App is still in progress per GEP's trust page, and no card rebate or payment fee terms are published.

You are buying an enterprise source-to-pay suite from a firm that also sells procurement consulting and outsourcing. In 2026 GEP began consolidating GEP SMART, GEP NEXXE and other brands into one platform, GEP Quantum Intelligence; GEP SMART stays supported, and newer agent capabilities are bought as separate activations. The suite covers spend analysis, sourcing, contracts, supplier risk, procure-to-pay and GEP E-Invoicing, which arrived with the OpusCapita purchase on 1 July 2024. Gartner named GEP a Leader for source-to-pay suites on 21 January 2026, and GEP says it manages more than $600 billion of client spend a year.
The catch is how much of the deal is services. In GEP's own NASPO ValuePoint cost proposal for US states, implementation and managed services are 75 to 80 percent of year-one cost, and implementation alone runs 4.4 to 5.4 times the annual license (Audit Friendly calculation from GEP's figures). The same proposal allows 12 to 18 months for procure-to-pay. GEP publishes no commercial price list, and Vendr has no GEP benchmark. Outside AI agents get REST APIs gated by per-customer keys and client certificates, and no MCP server.
Before signing, get in writing: the license by module with the user and spend tiers behind it; implementation priced separately for each module, integration and change management; which GEP Quantum Intelligence agents are included and which are paid activations; the renewal uplift; the ERP interfaces in scope and who builds the middleware; the SOC 1 and SOC 2 report periods; and an export of contracts, supplier records and transaction history at exit.
Jobs, mapped to how finance teams actually buy.
GEP lists a Quick Quote Agent that helps launch RFQs and recommend awards, plus bid optimization, negotiation and supplier recommendation agents (checked 27 September 2026). Results claimed for them are the vendor's. Confirm which agents your license includes, since GEP sells them to GEP SMART customers as activations.
GEP E-Invoicing, from the OpusCapita acquisition of 1 July 2024, handles sending, receiving, clearance and real-time reporting, and has been a certified Peppol Access Point since 2012. Listed formats include X-Rechnung, ZUGFeRD, Fattura PA and Peppol BIS. Check each country you file in against GEP's list.
Ports America chose GEP's spend analysis software on 12 February 2026 to combine non-PO invoices, P-card and T&E data across 70+ locations and 33 ports. GEP's 2021 Texas list bills spend analytics as a recurring data-processing service priced by annual spend and refresh cycle.
GEP's Invoice N-Way Matching Agent matches invoices to POs, contracts, receipts and confirmations, and a Fraud/Anomaly Detection Agent flags duplicates and price deviations (vendor description, checked 27 September 2026). GEP says three-way matching runs as a fixed workflow for SOX. Payment happens in your ERP, which posts status back through GEP's Invoice API.
GEP sells procurement consulting and outsourcing of sourcing, spend analysis, P2P and AP next to its software. That suits a CPO who wants one accountable partner. It also means the firm that configures the platform may sell the labor that runs it, so price each piece separately.
Forget the 40-row feature grid. Pick a finance workflow and see how this tool and its closest peers actually do it, with our verdict on who wins for whom.
Here's what it really costs: published rates where a vendor lists them, aggregated quote data where they don't, plus a path to your own number.
Procure to pay, supplier, sourcing and contract management and spend analysis for 500 to 1,250 buyers, after GEP's 40 percent minimum license discount on its NASPO ValuePoint contract for US states (awarded 31 May 2023); these are ceiling prices a buyer can negotiate down.
MSRP by company revenue tier (up to $500M to over $10B) and user band (100 users to enterprise); Texas DIR buyers got 25 percent off until the contract expired on 15 November 2023.
MSRP per module from 5 users to unlimited users; Supplier Management Plus runs $60,000 to $600,000 a year.
MSRP by revenue tier and users; a volume option costs $100,000 a year for up to 100,000 documents plus $1 per additional document.
Billed as a recurring professional service by annual spend and refresh cycle, plus $15,000 setup and $15,000 to $125,000 per historical year of data migrated.
Fixed fees over years 1 and 2 after a 10 percent discount, covering workstreams, change management, training, catalog support, contract migration and supplier onboarding.
Catalog support, ongoing customer support ($100,000 to $150,000 a year before discount) and on-site stabilization support in year 2.
Per sourcing, contracts or supplier module by user band; procure-to-pay implementation is individually calculated.
P2P integration through client middleware for 4 to 11 interfaces; AP integration runs $275,000 to $950,000.
Priced by annual invoice volume, plus $2 per document for recurring validation services.
SSO setup and operation, and development and support for a non-standard interface language.
In its NASPO ValuePoint cost proposal, GEP prices implementation at $4.3 million to $9.2 million across three state scenarios, 4.4 to 5.4 times the annual license, plus managed services of $2.6 million to $3.9 million over 10 years. Services come to 75 to 80 percent of year-one cost and 39 to 46 percent of the 10-year total (Audit Friendly calculation, checked 27 September 2026). A state program is bigger than most corporate rollouts, but the ratio is the warning. Ask for implementation priced by module and a cap on change orders.
GEP's client-update page says GEP SMART, GEP NEXXE and other brands are consolidating into GEP Quantum Intelligence, and that GEP SMART stays supported with no forced migration (checked 27 September 2026). The same FAQ says new capabilities are not activated by default and are bought through the account team. Write the platform version, agent entitlements and any migration cost into the order form.
GEP's 2021 Texas DIR list prices P2P integration through client middleware at $295,000 for up to 4 interfaces and $1,650,000 for up to 11, and AP integration at $275,000 to $950,000. Its NASPO proposal includes one ERP instance through the state's middleware using GEP's API and excludes other third-party integrations. Confirm who builds and maintains the middleware mappings.
GEP says it standardizes integration on the Model Context Protocol so its own agents reach SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and other systems (checked 27 September 2026). No GEP MCP server for outside agents appears in the official MCP registry or on GitHub, and GEP's GitHub organization has no public repositories. A GEP blog post of 18 December 2025 also uses 'MCP' to mean Managed Cognitive Procurement, so ask which meaning a sales claim uses.
GEP's Texas DIR list charges AI-based spend data processing every year by spend band and refresh cycle, from $68,000 (up to $150 million of spend, yearly refresh) to $789,000 (over $75 billion, monthly). Setup adds $15,000, and migrating history costs $15,000 to $125,000 per year of data. That line recurs, so budget it with the license.
GEP's Invoice API accepts payment details and payment status posted from the ERP. GEP announced embedded Mastercard virtual cards for its P2P ePayables module on 13 September 2023, and its P2P page lists virtual card support and dynamic discounting, but no rebate or fee terms are public. GEP's trust page says PCI DSS for its Payment Suite App is still being pursued (checked 27 September 2026).
Scored on what an outside agent can actually reach: the documented API, how it authenticates, and whether the vendor ships an MCP server.
Inside the product, the AI layer is GEP Quantum Intelligence. A GEP blog post of 5 December 2025 introduced it as a network of agents that plan, act and collaborate across source-to-pay, and by mid-2026 GEP had made it the name of the whole platform. The platform page lists 34 named agents, among them a Quick Quote Agent, an Invoice N-Way Matching Agent and a Fraud/Anomaly Detection Agent, plus GEP Quantum Intelligence Studio for building custom agents without code. GEP says one model gateway routes work to Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude and that the platform runs at 100+ enterprises; figures such as MCP cutting connection time by 60 to 70 percent are vendor-claimed. For GEP SMART customers, these capabilities are activated and priced separately.
Exists: no. The official MCP registry and GitHub searches returned no GEP server, GEP's GitHub organization has no public repositories, and the 'GEP MCP Server' listed on Glama is EvoMap's tool for a Genome Evolution Protocol, unrelated to GEP (all checked 27 September 2026). GEP does use MCP, but as a client: its own agents use MCP connectors to reach SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and other systems. A GEP blog post of 18 December 2025 also uses 'MCP' to mean Managed Cognitive Procurement, so ask which meaning a sales claim uses.
Scope: the public surface is GEP's API documentation at api.gep.com, which lists REST and bulk APIs for GEP SMART and GEP Quantum. Master data covers organizations, users, suppliers, GL, tax codes, budgets and code combinations; transaction data covers RFx, contracts, catalogs, requisitions, orders, receipts, ASNs, invoices and credit memos. The APIs read and write: the Invoice API, for example, reads all invoices and creates invoice status, payment and payment-status records. SOAP and SFTP file exchange are also offered.
Turnkey: no. GEP issues each customer a unique key and a separate token service URL, the caller must present a client certificate, IP allow-listing is optional and tokens expire after 120 minutes; the GEP Quantum docs point token requests at a UAT host. Any agent connection is an integration project with GEP, and the 2021 Texas list prices P2P integration through client middleware at $295,000 to $1,650,000 one-time.
Who wins for whom: A Global 2000 company with its own middleware that wants requisition, PO and receipt data exchanged over APIs with SAP, Oracle, Workday or Infor: GEP. A company on SAP ERP or S/4HANA that wants POs and master data to move through SAP's own integration content: SAP Ariba. An SAP, Oracle or NetSuite enterprise that wants guided intake and Zycus's own team building the two-way ERP mappings: Zycus.
PO data over APIs and middleware. GEP's APIs exchange GL, code combination, budget, supplier, PO, receipt and invoice data over REST, bulk, SOAP or SFTP, and GEP says it connects to SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, Workday and Infor.
Where it loses: P2P integration runs through client middleware, listed at $295,000 for up to 4 interfaces and $1,650,000 for up to 11 in 2021, and no QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage Intacct connector was found.

SAP-native, APIs or files elsewhere. Intake Management takes requests across SAP and non-SAP systems, POs reach suppliers over SAP Business Network, and SAP's managed gateway carries POs, invoices and master data into SAP ERP and S/4HANA.
Where it loses: No native NetSuite, Sage Intacct or QuickBooks Online connector was found, so non-SAP ERPs use APIs or CSV over SFTP, and the planned Joule intake agent had no shipment note by 27 September 2026.

Guided intake, iSaaS-built ERP mappings. Merlin Intake asks guided questions and applies policy brackets for off-catalog buying before routing a request, and Zycus's iSaaS team delivers two-way designs for SAP, Oracle and NetSuite covering vendor master, contracts, POs, invoices and payment status.
Where it loses: No QuickBooks Online, Xero or Sage Intacct connector is documented, and Zycus's own NetSuite guide warns that scope ambiguity can turn a 6-month integration into a 14-month one.
Source: AF score rationale: GL / ERP fit 74; Zycus use cases and watch-outs.

Who wins for whom: A multinational facing e-invoicing mandates that wants supplier management, supplier risk and a Peppol access point in one suite: GEP. A procurement team enabling thousands of suppliers across many countries through registration, qualification and risk modules: SAP Ariba. A public-sector or enterprise buyer that wants supplier management with phantom-vendor and bank-detail change checks under SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 reports: Zycus.
Supplier risk inside the suite. Supplier Management sits beside supplier risk in one suite at a 2021 MSRP of $37,500 to $375,000 a year, and GEP lists SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II reports and a Peppol Access Point since 2012.
Where it loses: No 1099 or W-9 handling was found, SOC report periods are not published, and GEP's own NASPO proposal allows up to 12 months to roll out supplier management with sourcing and contracts.
Source: AF score rationale: Compliance depth 85; GEP pricing tiers and implementation note.

Supplier lifecycle and risk modules. Supplier Lifecycle and Performance handles registration, qualification and segmentation, with Supplier Risk alongside, suppliers join SAP Business Network on a free standard account, and SAP commits to go-live within 14 weeks of kickoff for that module.
Where it loses: No 1099 or W-9 handling was found, a July 2026 update addresses SOC 2 auditor findings, and suppliers past $50,000 and five documents with a buyer can owe network fees.
Source: AF score rationale: Compliance depth 84; SAP Ariba use cases and pricing tiers.

Supplier module with bank-change checks. Supplier management was in the phase Seqwater took live in March 2026, AP checks flag duplicates, phantom vendors and bank-detail changes per Zycus, and Zycus lists ISO 27001, SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2.
Where it loses: 1099 and W-9 handling is not documented publicly, there is no FedRAMP listing, and the Supplier Network FAQ says supplier fees depend on volume and tier, which can slow adoption.

GEP says it earned 12 Top Tech badges, spanning source-to-pay, source-to-contract, AP automation, contract management, intake and orchestration and other categories.
GEP's Akshaya Patra release of 29 June 2026 is the earliest GEP press release read that names GEP Quantum Intelligence as the platform; GEP's undated client-update page says GEP SMART, GEP NEXXE and other brands are consolidating into it, with GEP SMART still supported.
Finnish software firm Tieto, with about 14,000 employees, chose GEP to run sourcing, purchasing and supplier management on one platform with an AI chat interface for employees.
GEP says Gartner evaluated GEP SMART on the GEP QUANTUM platform and placed GEP among the Leaders.
A GEP blog post introduced GEP Quantum Intelligence (Qi) as a network of agents that plan, act and collaborate across source-to-pay and work with any major LLM.
GEP publishes no commercial price, so the public anchors are two US public-sector price lists. In its NASPO ValuePoint cost proposal for US states (master agreement awarded 31 May 2023), GEP lists $2,666,675 a year for GEP SMART Procure to Pay (up to 11,250 end users), $175,000 each for Supplier, Sourcing and Contract Management and $274,165 for Spend Analysis, then takes at least 40 percent off. The full-suite license comes to no more than $805,800 a year for 500 buyers and $2 billion of spend, and $2,079,504 a year for 1,250 buyers and $8 billion.
Implementation is extra and large: $4.3 million to $9.2 million over two years in the same proposal. GEP's older Texas DIR list (June 2021; the contract expired on 15 November 2023) prices single modules from $20,000 a year for sourcing auctions and $37,500 for sourcing RFx, contracts or supplier management, and procure-to-pay from $246,375 a year. Vendr has no GEP benchmark (checked 27 September 2026).
GEP's NASPO ValuePoint master agreement was awarded on 31 May 2023, runs to 31 December 2027 and can renew to 31 December 2037, and GEP priced it over 10 years. The license includes one production and one user acceptance testing instance and 24x5 support, with no cap on the number of solicitations, contracts, orders or invoices. Renewal uplift terms are not public, so ask for a cap.
For exit, GEP's NASPO proposal says GEP will provide all data generated in the software back to the customer at no extra charge. GEP's REST APIs also retrieve contracts, orders, receipts, invoices and supplier records. Write the export format and timing into the contract.
Plan on a year or more for a full suite. GEP's NASPO proposal allows up to 12 months for spend analysis, sourcing, contracts and supplier management (6 for a small state) and 12 to 18 months for request-through-pay, inside a 24-month program. Costa Coffee chose GEP in 2023 and was live by 19 August 2024, and Akshaya Patra chose GEP in June 2026 for go-live in early 2027.
GEP leads delivery with its own implementation and change management team (a project lead, a manager and two analysts for change management in the NASPO bid). Partners such as KPMG and Optis Consulting appear in the same NASPO price file, and the customer supplies migration data in GEP templates and staff to co-lead change.
Not through MCP. GEP has no MCP server for outside agents as of 27 September 2026; it uses MCP so its own agents can reach your ERP and other systems. Inside GEP, Claude is one of the models GEP says its agents can run on.
The workable route is GEP's REST APIs, documented at api.gep.com, which read and write requisitions, orders, contracts, receipts and invoices. Access needs a GEP-issued key, a separate token service URL and a client certificate for your tenant, so a developer has to build and host the tools Claude would call.
