Tax content & coverage
84
+

The research page cites analysis for 195+ countries, 41,000+ law change reports, 4,000+ treaties and 2,200 tax forms. The Marketplace catalog held 185 Pillar Two forms for 58 jurisdictions on 10 October 2026, and CbC outputs cover OECD, EU public and Australian public formats. The International Tax Calculator handles GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F and foreign tax credits. Coverage stops at ASC 740 provision and US federal and state return preparation.

Compliance depth
82
+

Orbitax states it maintains SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations each year with reports available under NDA, maps controls to NIST 800-53, and enforces role-based access with multi-factor authentication (MCP Connector Privacy Policy version 1.2 and the technical facts page, checked 10 October 2026). Accounts are pinned to a US, UK, German or Qatari region. HMRC's supplier list, updated 21 September 2026, shows Orbitax Global Minimum Tax authorised for UK tax returns, notifications and GIRs. The forms agreement offers no accuracy guarantee beyond a refund of the form price if a defective form is rejected.

Integrations & data flow
80
+

Orbitax Connect advertises 100+ prebuilt connectors and names SAP, Oracle and ONESOURCE; Thomson Reuters documents a ONESOURCE Tax Provision link (blog, 31 August 2026) and insightsoftware announced a Longview Tax integration on 29 July 2025. Filings go machine to machine to authorities in 6 countries. The Connect API node is an Elite feature or an Enterprise add-on, and connector documentation is not public.

Scalability
78
+

The vendor reports more than 1,700 Pillar Two filings across 34 jurisdictions in the first season, with about 30 percent created in the final seven days before 30 June 2026 (newsroom, 19 July 2026). The about page counts 10,000+ users, and case studies cover groups with 70 to 80 entities in 25 jurisdictions and filings in 27 countries. Orbitax publishes no entity, user or API limits, so the ceiling for very large groups rests on vendor assurance.

Implementation
76
+

Two vendor case studies describe short first-year setups. AMG Critical Materials (28 September 2026) implemented in about 10 days by loading its filed CbCR XML through the Compliance Accelerator, and Columbia Sportswear (23 July 2026) went from completed calculations to an accepted Canadian GIR in about ten days. The about page counts 15 certified service providers. Full GloBE calculations still need entity-level data collection, and one customer advises starting about 18 months before the deadline.

Support
75
+

The pricing page lists a help center, ticket support with an SLA from a 24/7 help and support team, and Orbitax Academy courses in all four packages (checked 10 October 2026). Vendor case studies from 2026 credit direct support during first filings, including weekend validation fixes. The SLA terms are not published and the forms help desk is limited to access and technical function. All of this evidence comes from the vendor.

AI / agent readiness
65
+

XatBot is embedded across the platform with cited answers, a per-point verification tab, scheduled monitoring and a beta Autopilot (XatBot changelog, checked 11 October 2026). Outside the product the surface is thin: Orbitax announced an MCP server proxy on 19 April 2026 and publishes a connector privacy policy (version 1.2), but no connector address, tool list or setup guide is public and the changelog still marks the Claude listing as coming soon. Orbitax publishes no API reference, and the Fair Usage Policy bans automated querying.

Pricing transparency
55
+

The pricing page publishes the package structure and which features sit in each tier, but every package and tax solution says Request Pricing (checked 10 October 2026). List prices exist for XatBot ($49 and $199 a month) and for single Marketplace forms ($2,500, $5,000 and $15,000). No public benchmark page shows Orbitax contract values, and the subscription agreement with renewal terms is not posted.

The verdict

An HMRC-authorised Pillar Two filing platform, sold on quote, that sits beside provision and return systems.

Written by the Audit Friendly research team. No vendor edits, no sponsored placement.

Orbitax is a Pillar Two and international tax compliance layer that sits beside the provision and return systems a tax department already owns. Its Global Minimum Tax solution runs OECD and local-country calculations, fills the GloBE Information Return and local forms, validates the XML and transmits it where a tax authority accepts machine-to-machine filing. Orbitax says more than 1,700 Pillar Two filings in 34 jurisdictions were prepared or submitted through the platform between 1 November 2025 and 30 June 2026. HMRC lists Orbitax Global Minimum Tax among 14 authorised Pillar 2 software suppliers (list updated 21 September 2026). Research on 195+ countries, country-by-country reporting, a US outbound calculator and the XatBot assistant run on the same platform.

The catch is scope and price. Orbitax does not calculate an ASC 740 provision and does not prepare a US federal or state income tax return; its own tax provision page says it connects to ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Longview or Excel workpapers and leaves them in place. Platform packages and every tax solution are priced on request. Only the XatBot plans and the per-form Marketplace fees carry list prices. Direct transmission is flagged for 11 forms in 6 countries in the catalog checked on 10 October 2026. Everywhere else the platform produces the file and instructions for the government portal. Autopilot and Deep Research are labelled beta.

Before signing, get the package tier, each licensed solution and the entity or jurisdiction metric priced line by line, with a renewal cap. Ask whether forms are unlimited under the subscription or billed per filing, because the Marketplace price covers a single filing for a single taxpayer. Confirm which of your filing jurisdictions have live machine-to-machine transmission today. Put the data region, single sign-on, the Connect API and E.A.T. workflows in the order form: the pricing page shows several of them as add-ons or top-tier features. Agree the export format and timing before termination, since the vendor states customer content is purged within 7 days of expiry.

Best for
  • A multinational above the EUR 750 million Pillar Two threshold that must file GIRs, notifications and QDMTT returns in many countries with a small tax team.
  • A tax department already on ONESOURCE Tax Provision or Longview that wants Pillar Two and country-by-country reporting fed from provision data it has already mapped.
  • An advisory firm that wants to keep Pillar Two filing engagements in house, using Firm Edition sub-accounts or single-form Marketplace licenses.
Not for
  • A tax department shopping for an ASC 740 provision engine or a Form 1120 and state return system. Orbitax covers neither.
  • A domestic-only group below the Pillar Two revenue threshold with no cross-border reporting to manage.
  • A buyer who needs a public platform price and public API documentation before talking to sales.
What it solves for finance

The jobs a tax team actually hires Orbitax for

Jobs, mapped to how finance teams actually buy.

Filing

File Pillar Two returns in every in-scope country

The Filing Manager holds registrations, notifications, top-up tax returns and GIRs by jurisdiction and fills them from the Global Minimum Tax calculation. Validation runs against the XML schema and OECD content rules before export. A dashboard tracks which filings are pending, in progress or transmitted.

Onboarding

Go from a filed CbCR or Form 1120 XML to a GIR

The Compliance Accelerator, announced 24 April 2026, reads a filed CbCR XML or US Form 1120 XML, fills the entity template, tests the CbCR safe harbor and routes failing jurisdictions to full QDMTT and IIR calculations. AMG's two-person tax team used it for 70 to 80 entities in 25 jurisdictions. With a CbCR XML, ownership and entity type still have to be collected by survey.

Filing

Transmit returns straight to the tax authority

The catalog flags 11 forms in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom for direct transmission. Orbitax reports 350+ successful machine-to-machine transmissions on its Global Minimum Tax page. For other jurisdictions the platform generates the filing package with step-by-step portal instructions.

Reporting

Produce CbC and public CbC reports from one dataset

One reviewed dataset feeds the OECD CbC XML, country-specific secondary filings, the EU public CbC report in xHTML with iXBRL and Australia's PCBC.001 XML. The same data is reused for the Pillar Two transitional safe harbor test. Assignments and the audit trail need an E.A.T. license on top of the CbC license, per the product page.

Calculation

Run US outbound calculations outside Excel

The International Tax Calculator computes the main US outbound provisions with scenario modelling, roll-forward of prior years and drill-down to the regulation behind each line. It shares QDMTT, GILTI and Subpart F data with the Pillar Two calculation. It is a calculator and planning tool; the Form 1120 return itself is prepared elsewhere.

Research

Track law changes with scheduled XatBot questions

Tax Flows reruns saved questions weekly or monthly and emails a comparison of what changed, with a timeline. Answers cite the Orbitax library, tax news and a curated list of authority and firm websites. A customer quoted on the research page says in-country changes appear within 24 to 48 hours of enactment, a testimonial the vendor publishes.

Two vendor case studies put first-year setup at about 10 days: AMG Critical Materials loaded its CbCR XML through the Compliance Accelerator, and Columbia Sportswear went from finished calculations to a GIR accepted by the Canada Revenue Agency. Both started from clean, validated data. Groups that fail the CbCR safe harbor must collect GloBE income and covered tax inputs by entity, and a senior EPAM tax director advises starting that data work about 18 months before filing.

Things to watch for
01
Pricing
The platform price is not public

Every package and tax solution on the pricing page says Request Pricing or Book a meeting (checked 10 October 2026). Orbitax does not publish the metric either, so a buyer cannot tell whether the quote will scale by entity, jurisdiction or user. No public benchmark page shows Orbitax contract values. Ask for a line per package, per solution and per add-on, and a written renewal cap.

01
Pricing
Marketplace forms are billed per filing

The Purchase and Use Agreement says a Marketplace license covers a single filing for a single taxpayer, at the price shown when it is bought. At list, one GIR, five notifications and three QDMTT returns come to 42,500 dollars (Audit Friendly arithmetic from the published prices, 10 October 2026). Forms licensed inside a subscription can be used without limit during the term, under terms set in the subscription agreement. Orbitax reserves the right to change form prices at any time.

01
Content
No provision engine and no US return

The tax provision page describes connecting data from ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Longview Tax Provision or Excel workpapers and states that Orbitax does not require replacing the provision environment (checked 10 October 2026). No ASC 740 or IFRS provision calculation is offered. The International Tax Calculator computes GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F and foreign tax credits, but Form 1120 and state returns are prepared in another system. Budget for both.

01
Filing
Direct filing reaches 6 countries

On 10 October 2026 the Marketplace catalog flagged 11 of 185 forms for machine-to-machine transmission, in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In all, 144 forms carry a filing support flag; where direct transmission is missing, the Filing Manager supplies the official export format and portal instructions. Local registration, tax accounts and certificates remain the taxpayer's job: AMG needed a Dutch certificate and a service provider to finish its submission. Confirm each of your jurisdictions before relying on a deadline.

01
Contract
Refund-only warranty and a 7-day purge

If a tax authority rejects a form because it is defective, the remedy is a refund of the form price, claimed in writing within seven days with the authority's explanation; penalties and interest are excluded (Purchase and Use Agreement, checked 10 October 2026). Only Orbitax may terminate that agreement. The MCP Connector Privacy Policy says customer content is purged within 7 days of expiry or termination, backups included, and that backups are kept 7 days. Export scenarios, filed XML and acknowledgements before the term ends.

01
Integration
Automation features sit in the top tiers

The pricing matrix shows E.A.T. data collection workflows from Enterprise up, the Connect API node included only in Elite and offered as an add-on in Enterprise, and single sign-on as an add-on below Elite (checked 10 October 2026). The CbC page adds that assignments and the audit trail need an E.A.T. license and workflow. A Professional quote can therefore leave ERP feeds and review workflow out. Name each of these in the order form.

Orbitax announced an MCP server proxy for XatBot in April 2026, but no connector address, tool list or API reference is public.
CSC Corptax
ONESOURCE Tax Provision

Exists: Announced, with nothing public to connect to yet. The 19 April 2026 XatBot release announced an MCP Server Proxy that brings XatBot's tax research into MCP-compatible AI tools, and Orbitax published an MCP Connector Privacy Policy (version 1.2, effective 16 August 2026) that names Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Microsoft Copilot as possible hosts. On 11 October 2026 the XatBot changelog still marked the Claude marketplace listing as coming soon and under review. Orbitax publishes no connector address, tool list or setup guide, and neither Claude's connector directory nor the official MCP registry lists an Orbitax server.

Scope: The vendor describes access to XatBot's tax research capabilities and the Orbitax research library through a defined set of Orbitax tools. The privacy policy says a tool call carries parameters such as an entity identifier, a jurisdiction code, a fiscal period or a calculation reference, which points to reads against the customer's own platform data as well. No tool list is public, and nothing published describes write actions such as creating scenarios or transmitting filings through the connector.

Turnkey: Not yet, on the public evidence. The privacy policy says the connector signs in with OAuth 2.0 against an existing Orbitax account, and the vendor says it is open to all XatBot users with no extra tier. Orbitax publishes no setup guide or connector address, and the help center is a subscriber feature. The XatBot Fair Usage Policy (version 1.0, 9 September 2025) bans scripted or automated querying and caps use at 200 queries a day unless agreed in writing. Orbitax publishes no API reference or developer portal. Orbitax Connect moves data between Orbitax and other systems, and its API node is an Elite-tier feature or an Enterprise add-on.

In the product, XatBot answers research questions with sources and a verification tab that rates each key point High, Medium or Low. It reads a group's own scenarios and entity data, drafts memos and reruns saved questions on a schedule (Tax Flows). Autopilot, which drives the platform's screens, and Deep Research are labelled beta, and Autopilot works only in Project Settings and Global Minimum Tax. XatBot can also act as an MCP client: a user adds an external MCP server with a URL and an auth header. The vendor claims 12 hours saved per professional a week and zero hallucinations; no independent account confirms either.

Claude can
According to Orbitax, once an Orbitax user authorises its MCP connector, Claude can call Orbitax tools for research answers on rates, treaties and Pillar Two rules. The Claude listing was still marked coming soon on 11 October 2026. Until it is live, Claude can work from the platform's Excel, PDF, Word and XML exports.
Claude can't
Claude cannot be shown to create scenarios, change calculations or transmit a return through the connector, because no write tools are documented. Bulk or scripted querying of XatBot is barred by the Fair Usage Policy.

Questions buyers ask

Orbitax FAQ

What does Orbitax cost for a multinational tax department?
−

Orbitax does not publish a platform price. The four packages (Essential, Professional, Enterprise, Elite) and each tax solution are quoted by sales, and no public benchmark page shows contract values (checked 10 October 2026).

The published numbers are narrower. XatBot costs $49 a month for Pro and $199 a month for Pro+. Single Pillar Two forms on the Marketplace cost $2,500 for a notification or registration, $5,000 for a top-up tax or self-assessment return and $15,000 for a GloBE Information Return, each for one filing by one taxpayer.

As a rough guide, a group that bought one GIR, five notifications and three QDMTT returns one form at a time would pay 42,500 dollars at list (Audit Friendly estimate from the published form prices). A subscription that includes the calculation engine and unlimited form use is priced separately, so ask for both options.

What are the contract terms, and how do you get your data out?
+

The subscription agreement is not posted, so the term, renewal notice and price increase language have to come from the order form. The public Use Agreement and the forms Purchase and Use Agreement are governed by Delaware law. The forms agreement says only Orbitax may terminate it and that no amounts are refundable, apart from the price of a form a tax authority rejects as defective.

On data, the MCP Connector Privacy Policy (version 1.2, effective 16 August 2026) says customers can export their data at any time with the platform's export templates. Customer content is purged within 7 days of expiry or termination, including backups, and Orbitax confirms the purge in writing. Storage regions are the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Qatar.

Before the term ends, export every scenario, the filed XML and PDF returns, authority acknowledgements and the audit trail. A 7-day window is short for a group with dozens of filings.

How long does implementation take, and who does it?

Vendor case studies describe about 10 days for a first-year setup that starts from a filed CbCR XML (AMG Critical Materials, 28 September 2026) and about 10 days from finished calculations to an accepted Canadian GIR (Columbia Sportswear, 23 July 2026). A testimonial on the product page says a team was live within weeks. These are the vendor's own examples.

The tax team does most of the work, with Orbitax onboarding, the Orbitax Academy courses and ticket support. The about page counts 15 certified service providers, and Thomson Reuters resells and supports the product for some customers.

Plan more time when jurisdictions fail the CbCR safe harbor, because GloBE income and covered tax data must be collected by entity. For calendar-year groups already in scope, Orbitax notes the FY2025 GIR is due 31 March 2027, three months earlier in the cycle than the first one.

Can Claude or another AI agent operate Orbitax?
+

Not in a way a buyer can check from public pages yet. Orbitax announced an MCP Server Proxy for XatBot on 19 April 2026 and publishes an MCP Connector Privacy Policy that names Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Microsoft Copilot as possible hosts. According to that policy, the connector signs in with OAuth against an existing Orbitax account and returns tool results into the AI conversation. Ask Orbitax for the connector address and the tool list before counting on it.

The limits are real. No public tool list, setup guide or API reference exists, the XatBot changelog still marks the Claude marketplace listing as coming soon, and no write actions are documented. The Fair Usage Policy also bans automated querying of XatBot and caps use at 200 queries a day (checked 10 October 2026).

Inside the product, XatBot Autopilot can click through platform screens for the user, but it is in beta and limited to Project Settings and Global Minimum Tax.
