Rydoo Review
Rydoo is a Belgian expense management platform for mid-sized and large companies with staff in several countries: receipt capture, per diems, approvals, AI expense audit, cards and reimbursements, from 8 euros per user a month (published), with a hosted MCP for Claude in beta.

The security page lists ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 and PCI DSS, with customer data stored in EU Azure data centres (rydoo.com/security, checked 27 September 2026). Rydoo publishes tax, per diem and mileage data for 80+ countries and certified paperless expensing, including IDW PS 880 in Germany and AgID archiving in Italy since 3 July 2026. Smart Audit flags duplicates, fake or AI-generated receipts, out-of-policy items and attendee conflicts and has kept a before-and-after audit trail since 11 March 2026, and reimbursements need two people by default. Smart Audit and advanced workflows are Enterprise only, and no SOC 1 report is named.
A hosted first-party MCP at mcp.rydoo.com reads expenses, trips, cards and policy, and approves or rejects expenses or requests a virtual card after the user confirms; the pricing table lists it on all four plans, and the developer docs (updated 23 September 2026) label it beta. It cannot create, edit or submit expenses or upload receipts. In the product, Smart Audit (Enterprise) and the AI Policy Assistant (since 27 May 2026) are live; outcome figures such as 60 percent less manual review are vendor claims. The REST API on Business and Enterprise covers expenses, users, approvers, trips and transactions, with webhooks.
Rydoo builds and owns an SAP S/4HANA and ECC package that imports employees, approvers and WBS elements and posts journal entries, and NetSuite 2.0 syncs employees, departments, approvers and projects in and expenses plus reimbursed status out (help centre, updated 28 July 2026). Xero and QuickBooks Online import the chart of accounts, tax rates and tracking categories or classes from Pro up, and Exact and DATEV are also listed. Business Central and SAP Business One run on partner-built connectors, NetSuite and SAP are paid add-ons, and NetSuite custom field mapping stops at three fields.
Eurazeo's release of 19 June 2024 cites 3,000+ midsize and enterprise clients in 132 countries and 20 million euros or more of ARR, Rydoo says 1 million+ professionals use it, and its Sodexo case study describes support for 522,000 employees. Branches act as separate entities with their own VAT numbers and ERP links. The ceiling shows in money movement: wallets and card limits are EUR or GBP only, and AED, HKD and JPY were added on 8 September 2026 for reimbursements only.
Essentials and Pro are bought online for self-service setup; Business and Enterprise list onboarding support as optional, and the Kardex case study credits a paid premium onboarding package (pricing page and case study, checked 27 September 2026). The SAP S/4HANA package is pre-built on SAP Integration Suite and Rydoo says it deploys in weeks, while NetSuite 2.0 needs branches, rules, rates and categories set up by hand. Cards need company KYC verification, and sandbox access for the full contract term is Enterprise only.
Essentials and Pro prices are published in EUR, USD and GBP, monthly and annual (pricing page, checked 27 September 2026). Business and Enterprise are quote only, add-on prices (NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA, Egencia, HR Connect, controlling services) and card or FX fees are not published, and Vendr and SpendHound have no Rydoo page. The terms do state the 8 percent renewal uplift and true-up billing for active users above the tier, which buyers can plan around.
The pricing table shows ticket support only on Business and Enterprise, priority tickets on Business, and a dedicated customer success manager and business reviews on Enterprise (checked 27 September 2026). Response times live in a Support Policy that Rydoo sends on request; the public terms define business hours as 9:00 to 18:00 Belgian time. Rydoo reports a 94 percent support satisfaction score for 2024 (vendor-claimed), and the app scores 4.9 on the US App Store and 4.7 on Google Play (reported); G2 and Capterra could not be read.
Rydoo Cards are single-use, recurring or physical cards issued through Airwallex or Stripe and funded from prepaid EUR or GBP wallets, with merchant-category controls on Airwallex cards only since 3 September 2026 (help centre). The Reimbursements module pays employees from those wallets with four-eye approval and SMS authorisation, and Wise and Deel integrations cover other currencies. Card, FX and reimbursement fees and any cashback are unpublished, and the expense product does not pay supplier invoices.

You are buying expense management built for companies with employees in many countries. Staff scan receipts in a mobile app rated 4.9 on the US App Store (reported), claim mileage and per diems, and route claims through one or two approval levels, or custom flows on Enterprise. Finance gets tax, per diem and mileage data for 80+ countries, certified paperless archiving in markets such as Germany and Italy, and connectors to SAP S/4HANA, NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks and Exact. Essentials is 8 euros and Pro 10 euros per user a month billed annually (published, from five users); Business and Enterprise are quote only and bill only active users. Eurazeo put Rydoo at 3,000+ midsize and enterprise clients in 132 countries and 20 million euros or more of ARR in June 2024.
The catch sits in the contract and around the edges. The terms for clients signing from 6 March 2026 let Rydoo raise prices 8 percent at every renewal, and leaving early can cost up to 60 percent of the remaining licence fees plus clawed-back discounts. Travel booking comes from partners such as Egencia, Perk (formerly TravelPerk) and BCD, because Rydoo sold its own travel unit in 2022. Rydoo Cards are issued through Airwallex or Stripe and draw on prepaid EUR or GBP wallets, and card, FX and reimbursement fees are not published. The plan table shows ticket support only from Business up, and the Support Policy with response times is sent on request. Smart Audit and the Insights dashboard sit on Enterprise, and SSO is an add-on on Business and not offered on Essentials or Pro. The MCP is useful, but it is labelled beta, and the terms exclude beta services from service levels and security guarantees.
Before signing, get in writing: a cap below the 8 percent uplift in clause 6.4.1, or fixed prices for the whole term, including each year of a multi-year term; the early termination penalty in clause 5.1.2 removed or reduced; how active users and true-up invoices are counted; the Support Policy with response times and hours; the card issuer, FX and any card or reimbursement fees for your wallets; which add-ons (NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA, Egencia, HR Connect, SSO) are inside the price; and an export of your configuration, because clause 5.3.3 lists platform-level rules, workflows and automations among the items Rydoo does not return.

Audit every expense before a person reviews it
Smart Audit reads each receipt and flags duplicates, blurry or handwritten receipts, AI-generated receipts, alcohol or other out-of-policy items and attendee conflicts, and can block auto-approval for monitored employees and for rejected or split expenses. It is included in Enterprise for customers who subscribed from 15 June 2025.
Answer policy questions before a claim is filed
Admins upload the existing policy PDF, and employees ask in plain language what is reimbursable and get an answer with the policy snippet. Since 26 August 2026 each branch can have its own policy.
Clear an approval queue from Claude
An approver asks Claude what is waiting, reviews context, and approves or rejects with the company's reject reasons after confirming each action. Every action is recorded in Rydoo under the approver's name; the feature is in beta.
Run per diems and mileage across countries
Pro and above calculate per diems with deductions and supplements, mileage from routes and rates by vehicle, and certified paperless archiving in markets such as Germany and Italy. Finnish mileage and per diems can be reported to the Finnish Incomes Register.
Post approved expenses into SAP
Rydoo's own package runs on SAP Integration Suite for S/4HANA and ECC, in the customer's tenant or hosted by Rydoo. It is a paid add-on on Business and Enterprise; SFTP and CSV routes remain for older SAP systems.
Issue single-use virtual cards for one-off purchases
Finance sets a limit and allowed merchant categories, and each card payment creates a matching expense at once. Cards draw on prepaid EUR or GBP wallets, and category controls work on Airwallex-issued cards only.

What it actually takes to go live
Clause 6.4.1 of the terms for clients signing from 6 March 2026 lets Rydoo raise prices by 8 percent from each renewal of the Subscription Period, measured against the previous period's pricing table excluding discounts (read 27 September 2026). Clause 4.2 defines a multi-year Initial Term as a run of 12-month Subscription Periods, so the uplift may apply every year of a multi-year deal, not only at contract renewal; ask Rydoo to confirm in writing. Clause 6.4.2 separately allows pricing-model changes on 60 days' notice, which the client may answer by terminating. Applied three years running, the uplift compounds to about 26 percent above the first-year price (Audit Friendly estimate). Negotiate a cap or fixed prices in the order form, which prevails over the terms.
Clause 5.1.2 lets the client terminate for convenience on two months' written notice, with a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees. Rydoo may then reclaim discounts and charge up to 20 percent of remaining licence fees more than nine months before renewal, up to 50 percent between nine and three months, and up to 60 percent inside three months. The initial term defaults to one year and renews automatically for 12 months.
Clause 5.3.3 gives a machine-readable copy of client data, usually within 30 days of a clear request, but lists platform-level rules, workflows and automations among the non-exportable items. After deletion, backup copies can remain for up to six months. Document approval flows, expense rules and custom fields yourself before you give notice.
Rydoo's developer docs (updated 23 September 2026) and help centre label the MCP beta and say its capabilities may change. Clause 17.2 of the terms says beta services come as is, may be changed or discontinued without notice, and are not subject to service levels, support, uptime commitments or security guarantees. Ask whether the MCP will leave beta, and on what terms, before building approval routines on it.
Rydoo Cards draw on wallets topped up by bank transfer, usually available in one to two business days, and card limits can be set only in EUR or GBP (help centre, updated 8 September 2026). Cards are issued through Airwallex or Stripe, and merchant-category controls work on Airwallex cards only. The expense webhook does not work with Rydoo Cards. No card, FX or top-up fees or cashback appear on public pages.
Rydoo's legal page offers the Subscription Policy and Support Policy only by request to its privacy address, so response times and support hours cannot be checked publicly (read 27 September 2026). The pricing table shows ticket support only on Business and Enterprise and a dedicated customer success manager only on Enterprise. Ask for the Support Policy and any SLA before contract.
Scored on what an outside agent can actually reach: the documented API, how it authenticates, and whether the vendor ships an MCP server.
In the product, Smart Audit checks expenses for invalid, duplicate, AI-generated or out-of-policy receipts and is included in Enterprise for customers who subscribed from 15 June 2025. The AI Policy Assistant answers policy questions from an uploaded policy PDF, on web since 27 May 2026 and on mobile since 22 July 2026, and AI category prefilling suggests expense categories. Rydoo claims Smart Audit customers cut manual review by more than half and see 4 to 10.7 times ROI; those figures are the vendor's.
Exists: yes. Rydoo runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.rydoo.com; an unauthenticated probe on 27 September 2026 returned 401 with OAuth metadata and the mcp:tools scope. Rydoo says it was listed as a community connector in Claude's directory on 14 July 2026, gained approval and card tools on 7 August 2026, and it was announced to the press on 3 and 4 September 2026. The developer docs, updated 23 September 2026, still call it beta. It is not in the official MCP registry, and the ReadMe docs MCP at developers.rydoo.com/mcp requires authorisation.
Scope: read and limited write. An assistant can search expenses by date, status, category, branch, person or trip, find card expenses missing receipts, get server-computed totals by trip, person or project, answer policy questions, and list cards, wallet balances, unmatched transactions and monthly statements. It can approve or reject expenses with the company's reject reasons and request a virtual card, each after the user confirms, and the action is logged under that user's name. It cannot create, edit, submit or delete expenses or upload receipts, its published tools include no reimbursement payments or settings changes, and it works only against production accounts.
Turnkey: mostly. Rydoo says Claude users install it with one click from Claude's connector directory, where it is a community connector, and sign in with Rydoo credentials or SSO through OAuth (help centre, updated 21 August 2026); the directory listing could not be viewed without signing in. Claude Code, Cursor and Codex connect by URL, and other clients need Rydoo to whitelist their domain first. An admin can switch MCP access off for the whole company under Advanced Settings; the default state is not documented. For code, the REST API at api.rydoo.com (Business and Enterprise) uses OAuth client credentials, allows 500 requests a minute on most endpoints and offers expense webhooks, which do not work with Rydoo Cards.

Rules engine plus receipt checks. Emburse Enterprise runs a configurable business rules engine with pre-approvals, allocations and delegation, and the Assurance add-on flags missing itemization before submission, then scores duplicates, altered or AI-generated receipts afterward.
Where it loses: Assurance is a paid add-on with no published price, the AI expense agent announced 13 May 2026 had no availability notice by 26 September, and Emburse is not FedRAMP certified.

Multi-level approvals on Control. Control workspaces get multi-level approvals, custom expense rules, SAML SSO and an always-on Receipt Audit, duplicate detection runs on Collect and Control, and SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 reports are available on request.
Where it loses: Collect, the $5 per member plan, lacks multi-level approvals and custom rules, so policy depth needs Control at $18 per member a month on an annual commitment.

Reimburse in 160+ home currencies. Emburse Enterprise reimburses in 160+ home currencies, and the Emburse Pay add-on pays employees and vendors from the approval workflow over ACH, virtual card, check or 180+ cross-border corridors through REPAY and Airwallex.
Where it loses: Emburse Pay is an add-on whose fees are not published, some rails are still in phased rollout, and Spend Basic includes only 50 ACH reimbursements a month.

Expensify
ACH reimbursement, 190+ countries. Collect at $5 per member a month includes ACH reimbursement, typically 4 to 5 business days or next business day under $100, and global reimbursement reaches 190+ countries, usually in 2 to 3 business days.
Where it loses: One-day Rapid Reimbursement applies only to payments under $100 when withdrawals stay under $10,000 in 24 hours, and FX and receiving-bank fees can reduce global payouts.

Rydoo, kept current
Rydoo told customers a new logo and colours arrive from mid-October 2026 with no change to features, and that it will offer an independent Accounts Payable suite.
Rydoo announced its MCP connector to the press for new and existing customers, letting users check expenses and approve or reject claims in plain language.
The Rydoo connector in Claude gained approve and reject actions, spend summaries by user, project or trip, policy questions and card balance and virtual card requests.
Rydoo said its MCP server is listed as a community connector in Claude's directory, with one-click setup for expense search and policy questions.
Employees can ask plain-language policy questions in Rydoo and see the supporting policy snippet; mobile followed on 22 July and per-branch policies on 26 August 2026.
Rydoo announced it had acquired Semine, an AI accounts payable automation vendor, to add accounts payable to its expense product; terms were not disclosed. Tech.eu reported on 15 July 2025 that Semine is used by 10,000+ companies in the Nordics and beyond (vendor-claimed).
Rydoo FAQ
Published list prices: 30 users on Pro billed annually is 30 x 10 euros = 300 euros a month, or 3,600 euros a year; Essentials would be 240 euros a month (Audit Friendly estimate from the pricing page, checked 27 September 2026). Monthly billing costs 2 euros more per user on both plans.
From 30 active users Rydoo steers buyers to Business, and from 50 to Enterprise, both quote only and billed on users who act in a month. Add paid add-ons such as NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA or Egencia, and plan for the 8 percent renewal uplift in the terms. No public contract benchmark exists.
Under the terms for clients signing from 6 March 2026, fees are paid upfront by bank transfer, the initial term defaults to one year and renews automatically for 12 months, and Rydoo may raise prices 8 percent at each renewal. You can terminate for convenience on two months' notice, but Rydoo may reclaim discounts and charge up to 60 percent of the remaining licence fees. Disputes go to the courts of Brussels.
You can request a machine-readable copy of your data at any time, usually delivered within 30 days, and Rydoo aims to finish a switch within 30 days of notice, capped at seven months if it needs longer. Clause 5.3.3 lists proprietary configurations, including platform-level rules, workflows and automations, among the items Rydoo does not return, so document approval flows and expense rules before giving notice. A self-serve account that cancels stays active until the paid period ends and then turns read-only.
Rydoo publishes no standard timeline; Audit Friendly estimates days for self-serve Essentials or Pro and up to about three months for Enterprise with an ERP connector, cards and SSO. Business and Enterprise offer optional onboarding packages, and Rydoo says its SAP package deploys in weeks.
The finance lead sets up branches, policies, per diem and mileage rates and approval flows; the ERP owner installs the NetSuite connector or SAP Integration Suite package; IT connects SSO and HR data; a director completes card KYC. NetSuite 2.0 still needs subsidiaries, rules, rates and categories configured in Rydoo by hand.
